Congratulations Jun Shihan George! Osu!

As expected Jun Shihan George recently returned from New York where he was successful in attaining his 6th degree black belt. (rukudan)

Another proud achievement from someone who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the passing down of his vast knowledge of the martial arts to others.

Another mile stone achievement for Mandeville and Seido Jamaica. Osu Jun Shihan!

July 1st 2007 was a historic day for Seido Jamaica. Seven seniors took promotion for 4th and 5th degree. (Sensei and Kyoshi)

Those who were successful were new Kyoshis, Vernon Williams, (St. Ann) Ronald Lyn, (Mandeville) John Royse, (Kingston) and Debra Lyn. (Mandeville) Along with new Senseis Everett Simms, Dawn Simms and Enid Plummer, all of Kingston Dojo.

It is definitely an important milestone in the growth of Seido Karate in Jamaica and the Caribbean.

It was also the first time that so many of our most senior Kyoshis and Shihans along with Kaicho were being in Jamaica at the same time.

All are now freshly enthusiastic and can't wait to begin the next chapter in there quest for knowledge.

Blackbelt Dinner 2007 Mandeville

December 9th (2007) was again Mandeville's turn for our annual black belt dinner. Converging once more on the fabulous facilities at Bloomfield great house, were over 30 of our black belts. It was a fitting way of welcoming home our team from Japan, and stories of train rides and freezing temperatures abounded.

Again what has become a unique (surely it must be) tradition here in Jamaica, the new shodans were asked to perform an impromptu number. One which they eventually pulled off without a hitch,,,,well not really.

Small awards were presented to Jun Shihan George from Mandeville, and Jun Shihan T. from all of the local schools. A truly wonderful evening.
